Clairvoyance, produced from a 17th Century term which means clear vision, is a type of ESP - Extra Sensory Perception. Although usually used to describe a number of psychic abilities, such as second sight, telepathy, prophetic thoughts and psychic dreams, it is strictly speaking the capability to discern details about a person, object, area or event through perception other than through the usual five feelings. A person gifted using this ability is called a email - a person who recognizes clearly.
In parapsychology, the term clairvoyance is used purely to explain information - both in the present time and not really readily accessible to the actual clairvoyant - caused by an external source, instead of telepathy, where information is transferred from one mind to another. In other words, a email has the ability to see or even visualise events, items or persons outside the capability or array of physical sight.
Distant viewing, usually a controlled, specific process, can be a facet of voyance telephone, as is clairvoyant dreaming. For instance, chances are you'll dream about a location they have never seen before and then find it is exactly since they had visualised it in their dream.
This happened to me, for example, once i was about to start my own first term in school. As I had never frequented the city where the university was located, my dad offered to take me there in order to find just how from the train station towards the college. Having dreamt about it the night before we went, I had been able to lead him to the college along the shortest course possible, knowing exactly where and when to turn. I was even able to make sure he understands how long it would take us to get presently there.
However, outside of the field of parapsychology the term is often used to describe other types of paranormal, or anomalous, perception. Most of the time, it is used in relation to the perception of previous (retro cognition) or even future (precognition) events. It is a gift many have got without even realising that. To use another personal experience as an example (and I do not claim to be a clairvoyant in any way), a few years ago, a friend's daughter had gone into hospital early in the evening to have her first child. Although with a group of common friends around 10 PM, somebody suggested we should contact the hospital and find out how she was getting on. As one of them found the phone, I introduced that a call would be wasted, as she had have a little boy in early hours of the following morning. We referred to as anyway and were advised she was in bed as the labour experienced slowed. My friend said the next morning which her grandson came to be at 5:30 AM.
Frequently, mediums will also refer to the actual perception of images identified during communication with spirits as clairvoyance.
Regardless, clairvoyance is a precious reward which can and should supply in order to help and guide others.
